About Kosha
What is Kosha?
Kosha is Egypt's calm home for planning a wedding. Plan every celebration in one place, the engagement, katb el-ketab, henna and the wedding itself, with a checklist, budget, guest list, seating, WhatsApp invitations, a gift registry and a shareable wedding website. Vendor booking is on the way.
How much does Kosha cost?
Kosha is free for couples. Your checklist, budget, guest list, seating, registry and wedding website cost nothing, and if that ever changes we'll tell you well in advance.
Does Kosha handle any money?
No. We never take, hold or move money, and there's nowhere in Kosha to enter a card. Your budget is your own record, and gifts, including a cash fund on your registry, are arranged directly between you and your guests.
Do I need an account?
Yes. An account keeps your plan saved, lets you continue on any device, and lets you plan together with your partner.
What can I use it on?
Kosha works in any browser, on your phone, tablet or laptop, and your plan syncs across every device you sign in on. A few things suit a bigger screen, so seating, the guest list export and the full website design live on the web.
Is Kosha available in Arabic?
Yes. Kosha works fully in Arabic and English, right to left included. On our website use the toggle in the header, and once you're planning it's Settings → Language, where each of you can choose your own without changing the other's.
Is there a mobile app?
Our iOS and Android apps are built and we're finishing the store paperwork, so they're not downloadable yet. Kosha works fully in your phone's browser in the meantime, and everything you plan there will be waiting for you in the app on day one.
Your celebrations
Can I plan more than the wedding day?
Yes. One Kosha account holds all your celebrations: the engagement, katb el-ketab, henna, the wedding and any celebration of your own, up to six in total. Add them from the bar at the top of your planner and switch between them any time.
Does each celebration get its own checklist and budget?
Yes. Every celebration comes with its own checklist and budget, started from a template made for it, so the henna never clutters the wedding. Your guest list, registry and wedding website stay shared across all of them, so you never type a name twice.
Planning together
How do I invite my partner?
On the web: Settings → Account → Invite your partner. In the app: Settings → Partner → Invite your partner. Share the code or link over WhatsApp. It works for one person and lasts 14 days, and you can always make a new one.
We both signed up separately. What do we do?
One of you enters the other's partner code, on the web under Settings → Account and in the app under Settings → Partner. Nothing is merged: the wedding of whoever joins is discarded and you both carry on with the other one, so join from the account with less in it. If that wedding already has planning in it, we list what would be lost and ask you to confirm first.
How do I remove my partner from our wedding?
There's no way to remove someone once you're planning together. If you need to leave, delete your own account: your partner keeps the wedding with everything in it, and you're removed from it.
Wedding website & RSVPs
What is the wedding website?
A beautiful, shareable page with your details and schedule where guests RSVP. On the web open it from More → Website, and in the app you'll find it on your overview under Wedding website.
How do guests RSVP?
Share your link over WhatsApp and guests reply there, either by finding their name on your list or by typing it in. You can also switch to personal invites, where each guest replies from their own private link so nobody answers for anyone else. Either way, replies land straight in your guest list.
Do my guests need an account to RSVP?
No. Guests never sign up, log in or download anything. They open your link, find their name and reply. The only thing that can ask them for anything is the guest password, if you chose to add one.
Can one person reply for their whole family?
Yes. Add a guest as a household with the number of seats you're reserving, or link people together as one party, and any of them can reply for everyone. The form asks how many of the reserved seats are coming.
Is my website public?
It's unlisted and hidden from search engines, so only people with the link can open it. You can add a guest password, which keeps a visitor unlocked for about half a day at a time, though guests you sent a private invite link go straight in without it. You can also hide your addresses until guests reply, and each celebration's location appears for a guest as soon as they answer it.
I shared our website link but guests say they can't reply. Why?
Your wedding is most likely set to personal invites, where the shared link deliberately takes no replies at all and each guest answers from the private link you send them. Change it under RSVP settings in the website editor if you'd rather everyone replied from the shared link.
Can we change our website address?
No. It's made once from both your names plus a few random characters, and it stays the same even if you edit your names later. Those random characters are part of what keeps the address unguessable.
Guests & invitations
Can I add guests from my phone contacts?
Yes, in the app. Open your guest list, allow access to your contacts, then pick exactly who you want. We skip landlines, since they can't receive WhatsApp, and ask you to choose when a contact has more than one mobile.
Does Kosha send the invitations for me?
No, you send them yourself. The app walks through your list one guest at a time and opens WhatsApp with the message already written, carrying that guest's own private RSVP link. Nothing goes out until you press send, and marking someone invited by hand only updates your own tracking.
Can I plan our tables and seating?
Yes, on the web, inside your guest list. Add your tables with how many each one seats, then place your guests, and you can upload a photo of the venue floor plan to work against. Seating is planned for the wedding itself, so add your wedding first.
A guest can't come. Do I need to take them off their table?
Only if you want to. A guest who declines keeps their place but stops counting toward your seat totals, so the numbers are already right and you can unseat them whenever you're ready.
Can I export our guest list?
Yes. Open the More menu on your guest list page and choose Export to Excel, and you get a file with names, phones, seats, tables and replies, plus a sheet for each of your other celebrations. It's on the web, and it carries phone numbers, so share the file carefully.
Vendors
Can I book vendors on Kosha?
Not yet, booking vendors is coming soon, so you won't see a Vendors section in the app while we build it. Everything else is ready to plan today, and we'll tell you the moment booking opens.
Privacy & your data
Who can see my planning?
Your checklist, budget, guest list and details are private to you and the partner you invite. Anyone you send your wedding website link to sees only what you chose to publish there. We never sell any of it and we never use it for advertising.
Can guests see our whole guest list?
No, there's no list for them to browse. If you use the find your name setting, a guest who already knows a name can search it and see their own party, and nothing more. On personal invites the shared link answers no searches at all.
If I link my contacts, do you upload my address book?
No. Your address book is read on your phone and never leaves it, and we never see the contacts you don't pick. For each guest you do add we save their name, the number you chose and a reference back to that contact, and you can unlink it later.
How is my data stored?
Your account and planning data are stored in the European Union, in Frankfurt, and used only to run your planning tools. We never sell it and we never use it for advertising. Our privacy policy names every provider we work with and says exactly how long anything is kept after you delete.
Your account
How do I change our wedding details?
On your overview, tap the pencil on the wedding card to edit your names, date and city.
How do I change the currency?
Go to Settings → Currency and choose Egyptian pound, US dollar, euro, British pound, Saudi riyal or UAE dirham. It changes how amounts show across your budget and registry, for both of you. Nothing is converted, so the numbers you typed stay exactly as they are.
I forgot my password. How do I get back in?
Choose forgot your password on the sign in screen and we'll email you a reset link. If nothing arrives, check your spam folder and that you used the same email as your account. The link works once and expires, so ask for a new one if it stops working.
How do I log out?
On the web: Settings → Account → Log out, or use the account menu in the top bar. In the app: Settings → Account actions → Log out.
How do I delete my account?
In the app: Settings → Account actions → Delete account. On the web: Settings → Account → Delete account. Type DELETE to confirm. It removes your account and its planning data for good, and if you plan with a partner they keep the wedding and you're simply removed from it. If you can't sign in, use the delete account page on our site or email us from your account address. A copy can sit in our encrypted backups for up to 90 days before it expires, and we never restore an account from one.
